Small business owners have always been resilient, but state senator Jennifer Boysko is determined to provide them with more government support. Boysko has met with various small business owners in Virginia who all advocate for paid sick days for their employees.

Boysko and Virginia’s small business owners want to offer employees 12 weeks of paid sick leave to care for both their families and themselves. Small business owners believe such a policy will help them keep good employees and remain competitive in Virginia’s economy. Boysko knows paid sick leave will help these small businesses rebuild and recover after COVID-19 and influence their growth in the future.

“If the past year has shown us anything, it is that all of us — small business-owners, front-line workers and the public at large — are best served when we have a proactive plan in place that allows people to take time away from work,” Boysko writes.
